Home Sweet Home: My first night (mommy says I snore)

Author: junohope | Filed under: Uncategorized

Hey puppies and pals,

It’s Juno again! I bet you guys are wondering why my last name is Hope. Well, it is actually a family name for my momma, and it is her middle name. She said her family name is actually a famous family from the past in the US for some type of argument with another family.

So today was a huge day for me. I went to my vet while my momma was biting her nails waiting by her phone the whole time. They told my handler some kinda good news, and some bad news. Due to my accident, yes, my leg was damaged and unfixable. They also found a spot in my brain that seems to be a result of the same accident. They explained to my handler and me that this brain injury was not life threatening, but that it would make me unable to completely open my mouth like most other playful pups. My momma thinks this is why I don’t bark. Now for the semi-good news. As of this day and time, though they cannot fix my leg, they don’t see an immediate need to amputate it. My vet said that because I still run really fast, and use my leg a tiny bit, that he thinks for now, it can stay on. My momma asked if in the future it would need to come off, and they told her that it was entirely possible, but that I was still a puppy and miracles were real. I didn’t really understand, but they assured me that I would be okay.

The best news of my day however was that my mommy could actually come get me today! I could hear the excitement in her voice when she said that she was going to get in her car, head to petco, and get me a pretty collar and leash. She said she had my bed completely made up, and had set up her room in the house we were staying in so I could sleep right next to her bed, which was too small for the both of us. Momma jumped in her car and picked up her best friend, who was SUPER sweet and loving (she took a bunch of pictures). They came and got me, and momma picked me up and put me in her car.

She brought me home and I met the rest of my family. Her brother is kind of a silly human, making silly comments, but he is a secret softy. He was sure to scratch all the good spots behind my ears and belly. I laid down in their… I mean our living room for a little while before momma brought me upstairs to her room at this house. I was too high to walk up the stairs myself, and my leg was kind of disagreeing with me, so momma bent down and carried me the whole way. She didn’t even complain! She set me in my new corner next to her bed (because of her staying in this house, her bed is smaller than her normal bed next door, otherwise she assures me I would have been right next to her). I got a little sick, but momma hopped right up and took care of me. Her grandma even woke up and cleaned it up. I felt really bad, but I couldn’t help it. Anyway, momma and me are getting ready for bed because it has been a long day for both of us. Night puppies and peeps!

JUNO!!! You are ADORABLE!!! OMD!!! How can all that cuteness go to just one puppy? You have THE best ducky any puppy could have as a pal!

Imq sorry your tummy was upset today. You have had quite an adventure in the last 24 hrs. Actually, your whole life sounds like it’s been quite an adventure.

I’ve forgotten…how old are you? I know that IF an amputation needs to be done, vets like to wait as long as they can if it’s a real young puppy to give their legs time to grow and get strong.

Hmmm… not able to open your mouth very far, huh? I’ll bet you’ll figure out a way to “vocaloze” . And I’ll also bet you won’t need to vocalize much because your momma and grandma will take care of you and spoil you rotten!!

WELCOME TO YOUR FORVER HOME JUNO!!! You have jumped into Puppy Nirvana!! I’m jist soooo happy for you..and for your humans too!

Get a good night’s rest sweet boy. Cannot wait to see more pictures…and some of Curly too!

    Sweet dreams and sending love!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle too!

Mommy says that I am thought to be about 9 months old. I can bark, but I really only like to do that at cats. Mommy says that her two cats will probably bark back because they think they are dogs, but they are not living here. I also played a bit with Curly yesterday while momma was out getting some more stuff for me. He got a little too rambunctious though, so grandma and auntie made him go back outside and over to his house. Momma can’t wait to introduce me to her two other dogs Turbo and Diesel (who she says is only 6 weeks old!). I love having a huge family with lots of humans to spoil me.
